Still looking for living descendants of the following:
William Carroll Clark, born January 29, 1821, probably in Warren County Tennessee. He married Margaret Geland October 14, 1841 in Clinton County Illinois. His parents were John C. Clark and Rachel Clark. John died December 29, 1837 and Rachel died just a few weeks later February 7, 1838 in Montgomery County Illinois.
Margaret Geland Clark's supposed mother Nancy Geland married Ambrose Ford 24 March 1840 in Clinton Co IL.Ambrose and Nancy were still in Clinton at the time of the 1850 census but no sign of William & Margaret Clark. Then both families appear in the 1857 Kansas State Census in Atchison KS.No names or ages are given for other household members but both household includes two females and three males. In 1859 the name William Clark appears on a list of voters in Atchison KS.Then no sign of either household in the 1860 Federal Census.
In the 1865 Illinois State Census there is a William Clark household very near my ancestors Caleb and Susannah Clark Garrison in the Walshville community of Montgomery Co IL and I believe this is probably him. There is a wife and several children in his household.I have found nothing after 1865.
John C. and Rachel Clark's other children were:
Allenson Clark (m. Margaret Reid) Nancy Clark (m. William Missimore) Elizabeth Clark (m. Elijah Smith & Andrew Truett) Mary Polly J. Clark (m. George Oley, John McPhail, Thomas Edwards, Van S. Gordon) Susannah Clark (my line, m. Caleb Garrison) John I. Clark (m. Ann Elizbeth Blackwell & Elizabeth Elane Robison) Elcia Clark (m. John James Holliday & Daniel Steele)
Several of the allied families have ties to Iredell Co NC so I would be interested in hearing from anyone with early Clark info from Iredell which was formed from Western Rowan County NC.
