Welcome to the new Clavering message board. My own interest in the name started with the discovery that my mystery ggrandmother (married name Danforth) was a Durham Clavering and I'm now working backwards from there. I've reached the late 1700s and aim to cross the 600 year bridge to the Norman and medieval Claverings who hang about in such vast numbers on the genealogy databases.
If you have any Claverings in your tree connected to Isabella Clavering, b. ca. 1845 in Gateshead, England, married 1873 to Joseph Arthur Tamplin in Manchester Cathedral and m. later to Ernest Danforth, Steel Puddler (did she come down a peg or two I wonder??)... please post a reply. But any queries about any Claverings anywhere are welcome here. I'll try to help if I can
