I'm interested in learning whether you have learned any more about the family of John and Margaret Clelland. My father was born in Coatbridge (near Glasgow) and came as a young man with his parents to settle in southern Alberta. They came because my grandfather was a coal miner and became ill with what was probably a lung problem. He was advised to take his family and immigrate to sunny Southern Alberta. In the early 1900's there was much encouragement of settlement to southern Alberta. As the Clelland family have an extensive ancestry from Glasgow it is possible that our families are related. My grandfather was William John Cleland born 29 February 1874 in Gartgill Coatbridge Scotland. My grandmother was Jane JACK Park, born 28 March 1883 in Steveston Ayr. Scotland. Their two eldest children emigrated with them and they eveltually had a family of 10 children who settled mostly in Lethbridge and then in coastal British Columbia.
