Found in the "North Carolina Marriages to 1825"; Stephen Merritt marries Winifred Rose on July 01, 1771 in Granville County, North Carolina. And, Elizabeth Merritt marries William Rose on March 10, 1772 in Granville County, North Carolina.It appears that their father, William Rose, "... is listed among those who fought with Co. Eaton's Granville County Regiment in 1754, along with William Washington, Joseph Langston, Ephraim Merritt and others associated with the Rose family."
