Robert: I too am interested in Coffins in Alaska.In the far northwest corner of the state there are several Inupiat Eskimo families with the surnames of Coffin as well as Starbuck, living in Kotzebue and the villages of Selawik and Noorvik. With a long history of whaling among the Alaska Natives in the Arctic, I suspect there to be a connection to the Coffins/Starbucks of Nantucket.
