" We cannot give a very complete history of our Coffin Family line, as the relative who was writing that history died before the work was completed, and we do not know who has the records. This was Cordelia ( Coffin) Kohler. We have apicture of the Coffin coat-of-arms, and one of the Coffin mansion in England, and of the church where the Coffins were christened, married, and buried, for over 400 years. The present owner of this estate is John Pine Coffin; it contains 2,000 acres, and is in a small township, Portledge, Devonshire, England. Mrs. Nora Osgood, Melrose, Mass., may have more data. The old Coffin homestead here was at Flying Point, or Wolfe’s Neck, Freeport, Maine, and great-grandfather Coffin and his wife are probably buried there."

Date of birth and death not given.Married Feb. 7, 1801, Olive Thompson who died at Porter’s Landing, Freeport, Me. September 15, 1871, aged 93 years; a woman of noble character; the daughterof Alexander Thompson and Hannah Baker.
