Have a record of a Charles Coffman b. April 10, 1893. I realize this would make him 26 in 1919, but this family were busy moving about on the Miami Erie Canal and the family finaly stretched from Dayton,Montgomery county,Ohio to Defiance, County,Ohio, Have no record of his having been married at this time. But also had no record of his older brother Felix having been married either. I eventually found Felix had changed his name to William and lived in Defiance, County, Ohio. Hence I am surprised at nothing. Family records do show this Charles having been born in Newport, previously named Northport and Wyantt, Cynthian Twp,Shelby County, Ohio. He lived in Miami Fla and died in Troy, Ohio March 1979. He did have a wife when he died. I have to look that one up. I too would be interested in if this as the same fellow.I do have a picture. He resembled Tennesee Ernie Ford, the ole peapicker. Too I have been collecting trees of the various spellings of this family(s) along the western side of Ohio. One of these days perhaps will find a link or two. This Charles had a brother in Lima, another was in Delphos,Ohio for a time. Does this sound like fun? By the way we found the family bible in Yuma, Arizona. It is now in Schnectady, NY. Me I live in Houston, Shelby County,Ohio.
