Thomas Cogburn ... died 1871-1872?
I have heard from a White researcher this weekend that the name of my grt-grt gm's husband/father of my grt gf William was Thomas Cogburn. I've been trying to search this out as is the only clue I have had in such a long while.
Could anyone provide me information on a Thomas White who would have died between approximately July 1871 and April 1872; this is based on the information that he died prior to his son's birth 4/26 1872; probably in Ark as this was where Wm was born. An elderly grt aunt had said prior to her death she thought she had heard the death was from an accident rather than an illness and she was thinking it involved a horse.
William's mother was Luiza/Louisa Amanda White who was b abt 1854; our original info said in Texas but we've also been told in GA. The above White researcher says she was the daughter of Geo White who was son of Wm Thomas White. She says Thomas and Louisa married in TX; our family had told us east Tx. After the death of her 1st husband she married Adam Whisenhunt in Ark and they began a family and moved to west Texas.
One report from a distant relative says she thinks Wm or his father was a twin who may be buried in Hope, Ark?? I am trying to include anything that might jar someone's memory from information they have on their Cogburns (and of course the spelling may have been Cockburn at that time). I post ever so often in hopes someone new is out there or someone has come up with something new that might give me a clue and get me started again.
Anything at all would be so appreciated, Sandra
