Covington Georgia Coggins

Covington seems to have been a crossroads for wayward Cogiins family members. The furthest back I have gone is John Clark Coggin born in 1829. I cannot find his father. Word is that an Abraham Coggin holds that title but I can't find any info on him. Another is that he may be related to the John and Zilpah Coggin who moved to Covington from Chester of Fairfield, South Carolina. That family moved on to Chambers, Alabama. Again, I can't find a tie. If anyone can help please let me know. Eric
