Re: Colla's from Oslio Area
Thanks for the great information on the Colla Name.We had a family get together over the past weekend and I showed your posting to the Uncles. The oldest remaining uncle remembered that the family came from Oslio. The family business was blacksmithing and the building still exists. One of the Uncles had made a trip back a few years ago and found family. He has since past and I don't have him to ask questions of.
The Grandfather was Antonio (sp?) Colla married to Norma (maiden unknown).
Their Father was Joseph B. Colla, who was a blacksmith in Italy.A friend in the Oil Fields of Texas wrote him telling him he had a job if he came over.He did at the age of 16.
It was thought that Antonio had other sons but no daughters. One of the Son's was thought to have gone to Sicily.I would love to get more information on this branch of the tree.Only 4 of the 9 Uncles are still alive and they are all in their 70's and 80's.
