Hi Joanne, I have found David Colton born 1844,and Mary J. Snow Colton born 1840 and 2 children, Carrie and Bertha living with her parents, Simeon Snow and Caroline Dunbar Snow in the Town of Volney, Oswego County, New York state in the 1870 census that someone sent me as an act of genealogy kindness, (God bless him) later found Mary J. Colton and 4 children, Carrie 13, Bertha 10 (both working in a woolen mill) and George 7, and Grace 5 in the 1880 census living in Fulton,Oswego Co., NY.She is listed as married but no mention of David.(??)All of the children but Bertha stayed in Fulton.Bertha married a McClellan and moved to Utah according to George's obit. in 1939.Your Colton family could be related way back in Mass. or Conn. or could be connected to Coltons from Cayuga Co. as I think some went west.As to the SWEET family, that was my paternal grandmother's maiden name.By the way, I recently received mail from a Grand-daughter of Leon VAN LINDER, my father's 1/2 brother, now to find Harry's family!Good luck, Sally
