Hi Chris,I had no idea Comerford got changed in so many ways.I never would have thought of Crawford coming from it.I hope to get a scanner soon and I will send the picture to both you and Barb. This would be my g,g,g grandfather and the father of Thomas Comerford the stonemason born on Wolfe Island. My grandmother didn't identify her great grandparents in the picture by name, but I wrote Thomas down from a conversation with her at some point. They would be the Irish immigrants to Wolfe Island.
Thomas, their son, and his wife Catherine Donegan/Dunigan had children with the same names as several of your Thomas's.This is really curious.I knew quite a bit about my g.g. grandfather Thomas and his children because they came to Syracuse with him.His parents went with a daughter to Minnesota. It looks like there were many more Comerfords on Wolfe Island than I had every imagined, and for longer than I thought. It just isn't that big to have people with the same name living there at the same time not have some connection. The picture of the Comerfords was taken at a studio called Miller, 417 & 419 Nicollet Ave, Minneapolis, Minnesota.I'd like to find out when that photographer was in business to try to date the photograph. They are quite old in the photo and he looks pretty much like a leprachaun, white fringe kind of beard with no mustache.Cheryl
