I have just started into this article-length post of yours, but would like to comment on a couple of points.First of all, there are some double dates that you list that should not be double dates. For example, you list the birth date of Uree Gill (BTW, do you know if Uree is male or female?) as November 27, 1735/36.The double date occurs because the Julian calendar began the year March 25.Therefore, the dates from January 1 to March 24 would have a different year under the Julian calendar than under our current Gregorian calendar system.Only dates in that range should be listed as double dates.
The second problem is related to this. You list Jacob Randall and Elizabeth Randall, twins, as born on July 12, 1731.According to the Middletown Monthly Meeting (the official records of the Society of Friends, AKA Quaker church), these two were born on the 12th day of the 7th month.Since the year began in March for the British Empire at that time, the 7th month was September, not July. That is why September through December are named using prefixes meaning 7 through 10, respectively. This brings me back to Uree Gill.Is it possible that he was listed as born on the 27th day of the 11th month? If so, his correct birthdate would use the double date, but would be January 27, 1735/36.I suspect that this problem may crop up some more as I work down the list, but you may want to recheck your dates if you have access to the source that you cited.
