He served at Fairfax Court House, Virginia (VA) (Repulse of Stuart's Raid), Dec. 28, 1862, and
at Gettysburg, Pennsylvia (PA), July 1, 2 and 3, 1863.
Write to the town clerk's offices, public library archives / geneology for Vermont towns lived, born in, and died in as well as historical societies.
Most states have some info. online free: cemeteries, census, land records, wills, marriages, obits, etc.
If you order the death certificates or burial permits, it usually tells the parent's names,
where they were born, and where they are buried.
