Note Samuel and Andrew Horn and also Jacob Dobkins on the list.
I have been trying to put Jeremiah's descendants together but it is difficult with the 1800 and 1810 census missing and Servier and Rhea County court house fires.I have been trying to answer the following questions.
1 Where is the proof that Jeremiah Horn was from N.J. and not Fredrick Maryland, North Carolina or elsewhere?
2. Are the two Comptons in Rhea County- William born 1788/9 and Zachariah born 1790 Jeremiah's sons or was there another brother who perhaps died young?
3. Is William Marcum Compton the son of Joseph Cumpton or Jeremiah Horn? Note:He indicated in 1880 census that his father and mother were born in Tennessee.Jeremiah and Elizabeth couldn't have been.
Another good source is a book produced by descendants of Samuel Wear.I believe it is titled Descendants of Early Tenn Pioneers. It lists other sources but unfortunately does not provide much on the Comptons. It did list information on the Laymans and that Hetty wife of Joseph Compton name was Hetty Mullendore daughter of Abraham Mullendore.
