Hello, Virginia. You are most welcome. I have seen the image & see A plainly. The descendant who listed Amerion as given name has passed over. The living know the fact from the death certificate but no further. The gift of the 1850 listing produced one Hugh Comton, 50, b VA, with wife Rachael, 50, b VA in the Livingston county census of 1850. One Elihue Compton, with wife Rebecca, is buried in the Avalon cemetery near Chillocothe, MO. No listers have connected Hugh/Elihue, nor Rachael/Rebecca, nor Almon/Almann A to Hugh. But a family could certainly be from VA but in NY around the later part of the War of 1812 & you do have a cryptic list that Almann was born in VA [or that his parents were?]. Anna Eliza marries George W Ward & ends in Spokane, WA. A brother, William A, lives in Kansas (through 1930) & has a son, listed first as William R & after as Reed W. He is first listed born KS & thereafter born CO. That suggests some contact between William & Jerome in the late 1890s. Perhaps you have some idea of that? I will work on getting you together with at least one living descendant of Anna Eliza. According to family belief, she was born 17 Jan 1850.
