Hello Carmey,
In some of your earlier postings under a different email address, you mentioned the Marsh and Compton marriages, and I have an interest in, but not descendancy from these two families. The younger Aquilla Compton was married to a Phoebe Marsh; his brother Norris was married to a Mary Marsh. An ancestral uncle of mine, Elisha Wells married Elizabeth Marsh in 1792 in Person County, NC.Elisha's brother, William Willis Wells married Elizabeth Compton Herndon in 1806 in Orange County, NC; and their son, William Wilder Wells, married Rachael Compton, daughter of Erasmus Compton and Margaret Smith.James Franklin Compton, Jr.married in Orange County, NC, my first cousin, 3 generations removed,Nancy Pittard, daughter of Samuel Pittard and my GGG Aunt Nancy Rebecca Drake.
I am hoping that you can help me with some of these relationships.I would like some help with the Marsh family in understanding the relationship of Elizabeth Marsh Wells and Phoebe and Mary Marsh Compton. Do you know the parents of these Marsh ladies? Elizabeth Marsh Wells seems to have had a brother Abner Marsh; and there was a William Marsh in Chatham County, NC who had a son, Abner Marsh. William Marsh seems to have been contemporaries, age-wise, with Elizabeth and Abner Marsh.
Here's hoping that I have not overwhelmed you with puzzles to solve!!
Best regards,

Do you have any idea of any possible connections of the Herndon family with the Compton family?
