Some of the newer stuff I have come up in the past year is that Jacob R. Compton's (b. 1760) parents were :
Henry Compton (b. 1735 in Monmouth NJ, d. 1806 in Hunterdon NJ) and Rebecka McPherson (b.1739 in Hunterdon,NJ, d. 1828 in Warren NJ).
Henry Compton's parents were:Isselstyne (b.1695 in Hunterdon NJ) /Aeltjie Blaw (b.1700 in Monmouth NJ).
I think Henry and Rebecka (born in the 1730's are more likely parents of a child born in 1760, (Jacob R), than Isselstyne and Aeltjie who were born right at the turn of the century in 1700.That would have made Aeltjie 60 years old when Jacob R. was born.......and Rebecka 21 years old.......so I think that Henry/Rebecka are a "missing generation" on a lot of the family trees.
Thus, I am thinking my lineage is :Jacob R. Compton,Richard Compton, Issylestyne Compton and Richard Compton, William Compton II and William Compton I.
Would be interested in anyone's thoughts on the "missing generation" of Richard Compton/Rebecka McPherson as parents of Jacob R. Compton. (making Jacob R. the grandson of Issylestyne Compton, NOT his son). Thanks so much...........Lisa Compton George
