You wrote "Do you know how I could contact this person?" My source is a book written by John Adams Comstock and published in 1949. In it, he mentions his wife of twenty years, hinting that he was born no later than 1909.
I have seen a letter that he wrote to my stepmother in the 1940's and, as I recall, he lived in California. California's death records are at http://vitals.rootsweb.com/ca/death/search.cgihttp://vitals.rootsweb.com/ca/death/search.cgi There is exactly one entry there that might be the author of the Comstock book. (The other John Comstocks there either have the wrong middle name or died before the book was written.) That entry reads
COMSTOCKJOHNA (date of birth) 01/30/1883 M (male) (born in) ILLINOIS (died in) SAN DIEGO(80) (date of death) 12/26/1970 (at age) 87 yrs
My stepmother, born (Mary) Josephine King, was the daughter of John Henry King and his wife, Bertha Adele Comstock. Other than that, I haven't found a connection. I can only wish that other families were so well documented as the Comstocks!
