Seems we are researching along the same lines except from different views. All those names have turned up on my list. Definetly need to take a look at that.
My real challenge has been to reconstruct a family tree from documents I previously had and were destroyed in a fire. I have the post on here about my grandfather, Fredrick Peter Conant. Unfortunately with him, when he passed so did the family name in our line, my mother is the 1st of two daughters, so there was no son to carry on the name. Also, being very old and somewhat lacking in memory, I can not come up with my grandads, fathers name with any certainty. So I have had to backward construct the tree from memory.
This has lead to many offshoots, hoping to find the correct line. The silk industry was a major clue, as I do remember from my old research that there was a thread business once run by a Conant that eventually became what most of us know as J.P. Coats. Hence the research into this area.
Hope your hunt is more fruitful than mine, as I have had many a headache in doing this, but I have also learned so much more about the Conant family than I ever knew before.
