Hi Deborah, thanks for responding.I know nothing about where this family came from.Am waiting (hopefully) for copies of death certificates to MAYBE find out who the parents of Aquilla and Rebecca were.I thought Granville to be unusual also as a first name and am hoping there was a reason behind it.Because families often moved together I will list some of the names(they are hard to read) of persons who gave affidavits as to the pension application of Aquilla.Perhaps some of these names will sound familiar to you.Benjamin Salman age 58 in 1890.George Harbord age 50 in 1890. John M Ellis age not given.James O Ellis age 60 in 1904.Aaron(?) D. Higgins age 66 in 1904. Omer Read who signed with him because he could not really sign his name.I am confused on this Omer Read. In a couple of places Rebbeca's lest name is spelled Read instead of Reed. The couple was married at the home of a Wm. Read.Could be kin. Joseph H. Knott age 75 in 1904.William Tunnell age 42 in 1904 and William A Knott age 50 in 1904. All of these people attested that they had known the couple for a long time, some from before they were married. Aquilla did fight on the Union side in the civil war,If any of these other names sound like they had intermarried with your Connaways please let me know.
