I have been transcribing letters kept by my husband's grandmother in Chicago. One letter is from her fellow classmate from the Catholic school of St. Anne's parish, Matthias Concannon, who turned out to be a successful attorney and head of his own Chicago law firm. He served as counsel for the Kellogg Company and Foundation, as well as for the old Chicago Times newspaper. He d 1953 at his summer home in Long Beach, Indiana, though he was b 1888 in Chicago, s/o Malachy and Agnes McMannon Concannon. Interestingly, proceeds from his estate served as seed money for Notre Dame's Concannon Programme of International Law in London.
While this is not part of my own family line, I transcribed the 1939 letter from Matthias Concannon, which mentions his marriage and his newborn son, as well as some background links in my blog. If anyone is researching that line, you are welcome to read what I've found, as well as see the letter at http://afamilytapestry.blogspot.com/2012/04/classmates.htmlhttp://afamilytapestry.blogspot.com/2012/04/classmates.html
