Re: Roger Confrey
I was at the National Archives at Kew and looked up the entry for Roger Confrey, b. Wicklow, served in the 88th Foot Regiment, discharged age 42. He was a Private, his trade was Labourer, b. Wicklow near the town of Rathdrum. Was attested in the Co. of Dublin, for 88th. Regiment of Infantry at Dublin on the 28 May 1825. He served abroad 17 years, Malta 6 years and the Ionian Islands 11 years. He earned 5 good conduct badges. His total time in the Army was 21 years and 249 days. He was 5ft. 8ins. dark hair, grey eyes and dark complection. He was discharged at Chatham 13 August 1847.
Hope this helps someone.
