The pre-1907 Wisconsin marriage records do request that information. The La Crosse County District Court’s marriage record for Benjamin Congdon and Lovina Weller (Volume 7, Page 238) records Benjamin’s parents as “Joseph Congdon” and “Hannah Congdon”, andBenjamin’s place of birth as “Wallingford, Vermont”
John B. Congdon, (1802-1888, buried in La Crosse County) according to the same pre-1907 Wisconsin marriage records, La Crosse County District Court, Volume 1, page 139, married Rebecca Sly, 21 May 1863. Listed as his parents were Joseph Congdon and Hannah Congdon.
John and Benjamin Congdon are listed in the 21 May 1853 marriage of Emily Catherine Congdon in La Crosse County as “witnesses”.
