James D. Connelly married Nancy Aiken

I descend from the couple of subject line. I see in some of the Ancestry public trees that people will claim that Patrick Conley and his wife Dorothy are the parents of my James D. Connelly. Is this the case, and if so, how is it known?

I realize that Patrick listed James among his children in his will, and that James (who married Nancy Aiken) is from SC. But how is it known that the James listed as a son in Patrick Conley's will is the same James Connelly who married Nancy Aiken?
