I have two 1880 census records that are causing me a problem:
1880 Union Twp., Rice, Kansas census taken 4 June 1880: Ira R. Cavanaugh, age 35, born in Ohio Julia Ann Cavanaugh, age 33, wife, born in Indiana, parents born in KY (this is Julia Ann Conn ?) Laura E______, age 12, born in Iowa Woster A., age 11, born in Iowa Mary Ann, age 8, born in Iowa Hattie Bell, age 6, born in Iowa Magie May, age 2, born in Iowa Daisy C., age 5 months, born in Iowa (there are 16 'laborers' living in this same household - so it must be a farm)
14 days later >
1880 Pleasant Grove, Marion, Iowa census - 18 June1880: Ira Cavanaugh, age 40, born in Ohio Julia Cavanaugh, age 35, wife, born in Indiana, parents born in KY(this is Julia Ann Conn ?) Alla, age 13, dau, born in Iowa Wooster, age 12, born in Iowa Mary A., age 12, born in Iowa Katie, age 9, born in Iowa Maggie, age 2, born in Iowa Catharine, age 5 months, born in Iowa
Some sources spell their last name with a "K"
Is it possible that this is the same family - seems strange that two different families would have so mubh in common > names, ages, birthplaces, etc.
