My mother, Mary Howard Constable, grew up in Constable Hall. She was the daughter of Howard Constable (married to Fanny Ellsworth) and her sister's name was Julia. Here's the reference from the New York Social Register:

My mother's father was in business with cousin Stevenson Constable as architects. I have some documents about their business and but can't figure out how to attach them here. Incidently mother used to talk about "Uncle Casimir" (whose name I see on these Genforum pages) who apparently was quite a character and used to (this was her story) make flapjacks in a cabin he had in the woods and flip them up the chimney and run outside to catch them in the pan.
I have a family portrait with a typed letter pasted on the back of Constable's aunt Mary Eliza McVikar. I'll try and put down the specifics mentioned in the letter, though it's a bit hard to read: the portrait was given to my grandfather Howard Constable by Anna Constable McVikar, born 12/10/1820, married to Archibald McVickar (1816-1904), son Archibald McVikar born 1868. It says Mary Eliza McVikar (2/23/1789-4/27/1870) was born in Antrim, Ireland. to Ann Moore of Newton, Long Island and John McVikar who came to NY in 1780. They had 9 children, of which Eliza was the 4th. She married William Constable who was the son of Willaim Kerin Constable of Dublin, Ireland (1751-1803) who made he Macomb Purchase, among many other notable endeavors, a 4,000,000 acres where Constable Hall was built by his son William which took 9 years from 1810. He died 2 years later, leaving his widow with 5 small children. Her third son was James (1814-1892) who married Sarah Lippencott Richards of Philadelphia (daughter of Benja. Wood Richard and Sarah Ann Lippincott 1800-1862). James and Sarah's children were Stevenson (1854-1934) who married Mary Longsbreth (daughter of J.C.l Longstreth and Susan Lee) who had son Walter (1878-1903) and William (1881-) married 1st to Mary Winters in 1934, then Alice Nelson Smith in 1943. and Mary (1884-) married to W. W. Stokes with son W. W. Stokes, Jr. Then, added in pencil:
Polly McCoff. with daughter Polly and also added: Howard (1855-1940) with 3 daughters: Sarah, Mary and Anna.
