Re: Asa Cook, OH, IN, MI

I do not know for sure as I am stuck with my family line going back--have been stuck for several years.I am the direct descendent of Asa Cook, b. 1 Apr 1835 in Richland, Ohio, the son of Asa Cook and Cynthia Updegraff.Asa Cook had one known brother to me--Cornelius Cook, b. 13 Aug 1845 in Liberty, Ohio.Since there is a 10 year difference, I am assuming there were probably other siblings.The bulk of the info I have on Asa and Cornelius comes from their pension records from the Civil War.Asa Cook married in Indiana before coming to Michigan.(Barton Township, Newaygo County; also sometimes listed address as Hawkins, Cook's Corner, and Reed City).Cornelius Cook also lived out his adult life in this same area of MI and had many children.I have several postings out there, have researched several sources, but just had not "hit" the information needed to get me back further.
