Farias + Sao Miguel, Azores

I am trying to find my great grandfather's family. I have been told his name was Manuel Farias, father Joao Faria and mother Maria de Jesus. He came to the US maybe in 1875 and eventually settled in provincetown, Mass. He changed his name to Cook at some point but I don't think that is a Portuguese name.Does anyone have a Farias family info to offer.
