PILOT MOUNTAIN - Mrs. Nova Jane Cook Jessup, 88, widow of Ralph Jessup, formerly of Jessup Grove Church Road passed away Thursday, Aug. 30, 2001, at Surry Community Nursing Center in Mount Airy. She was born April 6, 1913, in Surry County to William Scott and Thanie Frances Simmons Cook. Mrs. Jessup was retired from Renfro Mills where she was a looper. She was a member of Jessup Grove Baptist Church. She is survived by a sister, Louetta Cook, Central Care, Mount Airy; three special nephews, Dale Jessup, Bruce Jessup and Boyce Jessup; a special niece, Frances Flinchum; a special great-niece, Martha Barker; a special great-nephew, Daniel Jessup; and numerous other nieces and nephews. Mrs. Jessup was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2, 2001, at Jessup Grove Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Roger Vaden. Interment will follow at Jessup Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 Saturday evening, Sept. 1, 2001, at Cox-Needham Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Jessup Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Carol Jessup, P.O. Box 1367, Pilot Mountain, NC 27041. The family wishes to thank the employees of Surry Community Nursing Center for all the care and love they gave Nova during her stay.
