Dorothy Cook from England

Looking for any information about Dorothy Cook (1844 - 1877) who married John Neel (b.1843 - d.1920) in 1868. They had a son called George Edward (1870 - 1942), but did he change his surname to Williams? They're more likely to be from the North East, but I'm not sure.
