Re: James Cook b. VA d. in SC 1816
Reference the post by Jim Cooke on 2/8/99 where he mentioned William Cooke (died ca 1752, Hanover, VA) and his son Clayton Cooke. Can anyone tell me how these Cookes may be connected to my three Cooks who are on the 1830 Floyd County, KY census? They are William Cook b. 1750/1760, Clayton Cook b. 1770/1780, and William Cook b. 1800/1810.They are living in close proximity to each other, and I presume they are father, son, and grandson, but I suppose it's possible that the first William could be a brother to Clayton.I feel sure that they must be connected to the other William and Clayton Cooks which Jim mentioned.
A little more on William Cook b. 1750/1760 (whose name may have been William Clayton Cook).
