Yes I am still interested.I have a Certification of Vital Record from Napa County California on the death of Jonathan L. Cooley in 1926.It list his Father as George Cooley and Mother Nancy Hubbard both from Tennessee. It lists his birth as 8/1/1842in Tennessee.I see where there are federal census records for Jonathan L. Cooley in 1920 in Napa, CA, 1860 in Weakly, TN, and 1850 in Weakly, TN.
My Great Great Grandpa, George A. Cooley was born in Henry County Missouri in 1871.He is listed in the Custer County Nebraska Federal Census in 1900, 1910,1920,and 1930.His Obituary lists his father as Jonath. Cooley, which I think is Jonathan L. Cooley from above.
I still have not made the connection and do not have George A's mothers name. But it states in George's Obiturary, that she passed away when George was six months old.I wonder if this is suppose to be six years old based on the household below with Elizabeth?
The period of time that I am having trouble with is 1870 to 1900.There is a John Cooley in the 1870 census for Henry county Missouri married to Elizabeth who died in 1875.There is a J.A. Cooley in the 1880 Mercer County Missouri Census who has a George in his household that is 8 years old.Not sure if these two households link to George A.
Also, it states in George A's obituary that after his mother passed away, he and his father moved to Oklahoma. And one of the other things that my grandpa talked about was that George A had a sister named Alice. Her Married name Alice Crockett.I have found Levi and Alice Crockett from Ottawa County Oklahoma census in 1910 and 1920.There is also, another family in this same area of Oklahoma around the same period.Jonathan Lycurgus Cooley and Mollie Parks.Children Jennie, Mollie, Ida, Josie, Richard, Rober, Charles who married Phoebe Crotzer.Like Jonathan L. several of these children ended up in California.
I've been looking at this on and off for a long time.I'm trying to make the connection between George A. Cooley from the 2nd paragraph above and Jonathan L. and George's sister Alice.Any information you have to share would be appreciated.
