Re: COOPER / CULBERTSON 1800s Laurens Co., S.C.
I am a descendant of Wilson and Edney (Culbertson) Cooper and you are so right about they aren't the last to marry into each others lines. In fact my grandmother (a Culbertson comes from the same line as Edney) and my grandfather (a cooper who comes from Wilson(Edney/Wilson's son Isaac Newton Cooper, his son Washington Lafayette Cooper, then my grandfather, William Newton Cooper Sr.). My particular line stayed in Laurens County SC, in fact I now live in Washington Lafayette Cooper's home, near Mount Olive Baptist Church (where many of my line are buried). I am searching for Wilson's parents (seems like a lot of people are). Some say he comes from Fleet Cooper line of North Carolina-but I can't find any evidence of that-heard there was a DNA test that proved that "my" wilson didn't come from this Fleet Cooper line...also Fleet, jr's Wilson, I am told, moved to Mississippi without any connections to SC, so I just can't make a logical connection. Does anyone have any other information on Wilson's Parents?
