Re: COOPER / CULBERTSON 1800s Laurens Co., S.C.
While I was digging in my notes I had a nagging feeling about the content of your post.Your line had a habit of naming the sons after heroes in the American Revolution in particular to PA.
WilsonCooper was perhaps a tribute to James WILSON of Bucks Co. PA in the Continental Congress in Philadelphia.
Washington Lafayette COOPER is a tribute to George WASHINGTON and the Marquis de LaFAYETTE at Valley Forge PA.
Isaac Newton COOPER named in honor a renowned scientist of the day.William Newton COOPER may be a tribute to a relative as well as the scientist of that era.
The reason I brought this up is because I have seen much of this in the family research of other surnames over the years which is not unusual.
Of course when you push your research on those dusy old trails behind your Wilson COOPER you may find a different story.
