Hi, My husband's 6th cousin, 4 times removed is John Richard Copeland who married Mary America Wiseman.I don't have any more info than you do, their names, she died in Maries Co., MO, they married 1838 in Hermann Co., MO, and had 12 children.I am wondering if you have info on David L. Copeland and Nancy Derrick. These are my husband's great-grandparents.He was b. Oct 1846 in AR, died Oct 1899 Henderson, Baxter Co., AR and Nancy (middle name may be Elizabethor start with L)Derrick, supposedly born 1851 in MO and died 30 May 1930 at Henderson, Baxter Co., AR.They are both buried at the Custer-Herron Cemetery at Henderson.Their son, Thomas Jefferson Copeland was my husband's grandfather who died in 1942.My question concerns Nancy Derrick....I can't find any 'documentation' for her birth or for their marriage. Many say they married in 1866 in Versailles, MO, but my husband and I spent some time last year researching records at the Versailles Courthouse, and found nothing at all on their marriage.Perhaps they married somewhere else, or the records have been lost or destroyed (although the notebook we checked had marriages, etc. before 1866 and after 1866).Anyway, if you have a clue where I need to go to find any documentation, I will be grateful.
Regards,
Frances Rutledge Atkins
