Re: Coppendale, London 1800
What a time I'm having trying to connect the lines!!!
But I know a John Copp who is also of the Maria Morgan Line.
I am the Richard Keys Copp line which is John and Charlotte(not Mary as records say-Mary was Charlotte's mother though.Have wills to prove the link.)
Also have wills of many Copps in an effort to link the branches-my line is to the William Copp. Oilman and Salters of Norton Folgate-confusingly there were 2 of them as William Snr was dead before 1762 but was married at least twice(Ann Pickett widow 1748-seperated 1750) and William Jnr-he was 21 and a Bachelor of Norton Folgate married to Lydia Barber in 1755.John their son was born 1762 and was 26 when he married Charlotte Bantock.
Their son William died in infancy and William Copp died in 1763 as Lydia was expecting his daughter Sarah. He asks to be buried near his dear father in St Boltoph.
I have linked the Wakefield/Rothwell families(wills of Daniel/John and Samuel). The Radford Notts line relating to Richard and Ann Pinder and am working on the evidence to link others.
So if you are interested I would love some help puzzling through.
I'm working on the premis that Coppendale/Coppindale/Copindal/Capandale/Capondale are all connected maybe back to Adam and Co in the 1300's but probably to the Derby /Nottinghamshire/Rutland/Lincolnshire and Yorkshire.
I think this side is so interesting and would love to hear from anyone researching the names.
I found Joseph(Jeweller) linked to Joseph distiller and know that Samuel and Daniel Copp were distillers in London.
