I must apologize for not answering you sooner, but I have been away from my computer for a long time.
I have nothing to add to this family since I am not researching them, having no connection.
John's articles are usually very accurate, since he has the blessings of most all of the families he writes about in his articles and books. He is a true southern gentlman, the type you could sit on the front porch, talk to him and rock for hours at a time.
I wish you luck in your search, and it sounds like there is a definite bond since one went with the others wife back to another state. My guess would be that they were brothers, or a nephew.
