Your William Batson Corbitt is my ggggrandfather and I have a line of his children.

William Batson Corbitt, born in South Carolina abt 1805, died abt 1853 in Henry County, Alabama (Verbal family history says he died enroute to Alabama and is buried somewhere along the trail.), married bef 1834 to Jane Kelly born 6 January 1815, Columbia, Richland County, South Carolina, died 22 Novemnber 1879, Dale County, Alabama.

Children:

William James Corbitt, born 11 Dec 1834 Kershaw District, South Carolina, died 4 December 1864, Georgia while serving with Company H, 37th Alabama Infantry, CSA. married Lucy Ann Searcy.Ms Searcys brother was Captain of Comapny H 37th Alabama.

Mary Ann Corbitt, born 9 March 1837 South Carolina, died 27 Feb 1921, Blakely, Early County, Georgia, married 22 Dec 1855 Henry County, Alabama to Jesse Thomas Hammack, born 5 October 1835, Georgia, died 17 Dec 1911, Blakely, Early County, Georgia.(This is my line.) Jesse Hammack also served in Company H 37th Alabama Infantry along with his brother William.

Henry E Corbitt, born 26 Nov 1841, South Carolina, died 22 July 1862, Columbus, Lowndes County, Mississippi while serving with Company H 37th Alabama Infantry, CSA. married 15 Dec 1860 to Mary Hazzeltine Clarke.

Robert M Corbitt, born 22 April 1844 South Carolina,died 16 April 1863, Yazoo, Mississippi while serving with Company H 37th Alabama Infantry.

Sarah E Corbitt, born 12 Nov 1846 South Carolina, died Nov 1916 Henry County, Alabama, married 22 Dec 1864 to Mathew William Lynn in Henry County, Alabama.

Joseph D Corbitt, born 19 January 1849 South Carolina

Susannah Caroline Corbitt, born 18 Sept 1851, Coulmbia, Richland County, South Carolina, died 10 oct 1914 Abbeville, henry County, Alabama, married Augusta Sanford Clarke.
