Re: Evan Corkill, b1827, Isle of Man, son of John and Esther Corkill
Hi Gavin. Some 2 1/2 years later, I'm curious if you ever found additional information on your CORKILL family.
I don't do as much research as I used to, but I still keep an eye out for information on all my ancestors.
I have only found out a few more details than I knew in 2002.For instance, I believe my great-great-grandparents were Evan CORKILL / CORKHILL and Elizabeth QUAYLE.And, I believe they married in Liverpool, England, around 1858 and then moved there.
As I mentioned before, Evan was one of the oldest of ten children born to John and Esther CORKILL of the Lezayre Parish (probably near Ramsey);they had married there in 1822.
I have not been able to find out if all the CORKILL's on the Isle of Man were somehow related. But, I did find out that many of them moved over to Liverpool, England.
