possible CORNISH connection
Looking for possible CORNISH connection.
My g-g-grandfather's name is William Cornish CLARK...assuming CORNISH has a family connection.
From my Website:William emigrated to Canada in 1852 and shows in the 1861 census with his parents, siblings, and Martha. Martha shows on the 1851 census as a servant and was born in England. (see ARTHURS page). They lived in Napier (near Strathroy) Ontario, Middlesex County. In the late 1880s the family moved to Pense (near Regina) Saskatchewan to claim free settlement land. They farmed and both are buried in the Pense cemetery.
One son, John Leon Edgar (Ed) married Blanch Louisa Parsons and had four children, three sons and a daughter who died only a few days old. Blanch died a few days later. Ed remarried (Hettie Amy Louise Knight) who was a mail-order bride from England. They had no children together. Ed died in 1914 and the boys moved to Toronto with two unmarried aunts (ED's sisters). The boys where about 13, 12, and 11 years of age.
