Am looking for the ancestors of Michael Cosgrove (Griffin), son of Unknown Cosgrove and "Nora" Unknown Cosgrove Griffin.Mr. and Mrs. Cosgrove immigrated from County Cork (I believe), IRELAND in 1843.While on "the high seas", Michael was born. The family lived in the Boston area for a couple of years.Eventually they moved into eastern PA.I believe Michael's father died while he was a young man?Eventually Nora married a Thomas Griffin, and the family lived in Ledgedale, PA.In census records the sons of Nora Cosgrove Griffin as listed under "Griffin" (1860 Wayne Co., PA).
Michael Cosgrove married Lucy Anne Edwards (of old American stock -- i.e. Jasper Edwards) and they lived in White Mills, Wayne Co., PA most of their married lives. They had 15 children, all who lived until adulthood!Quite a feat in those days. They lived in the Dorflinger Farm (of Dorflinger Glass fame) in White Mills, PA.Michael died in 1905 in White Mills, PA.
Mrs. Nora Griffin was alive in 1905 when her son, Michael Cosgrove, died. She was in her 70's at the time, according to the obituary, still living in Ledgedale, PA.
Would LOVE to crack this difficult relationship of Michael's parents.Anyone have any clues for me??
