Pirate Martin Cote 1559

There is a Pirate named Martin Cote that attacked Cartagena, Columbia, South America in 1559 and got away with much treasure. I was hoping someone might have information on where in France he may have departed from before heading to Cartagena.There is an Isabelle Cote in Montpellier, France that was born before 1578 and I was wondering if she may be a daughter because I can find no records dating before her marriage to Jean Martin in 1588.
