There is a book written on the Couillard family: "La Première Famille Française au Canada, ses Alliés et ses Descendants" published by a now defunct house in Montreal (Imprimerie de L'École Catholique des sourds muets) in 1906. The author was a priest, L'Abbé Azarie Couillard-Després. Several libraries in Quebec have the book. The best I've been able to do is to have it duplicated by friends of mine who live in Quebec. I'm re-reading it and find it very informative.
