Lots of info about Coulings in the Oxford, Kempsford and Gloucester groups but how does the London branch link up with the other major geographical concentrations. My earliest find is one John Couling - mariner - deceased at the timeof his son Charles' marriage to Rebecca Slegg in 1844. John must be a late 1700s birth? Any one knowing of London links - please contact me. I too have info about Matthew de Couling - a naughty boy, taken to court for cattle theft. This incident took place around Lydgate in Suffolk. This is not far from Coolinge - a village whose place name is derived from Coola's people.
