I do not have a birthdate for Rebecca Cowden, but assume it was around 1764 based on her marriage and her sister Susan's birthdate of Sep 7, 1763
and her brother Heber's birthdate of Oct 17, 1761. Her father John Cowden married Molly Wilson at Petersham, Worcester Co, MA on Nov 6, 1760. Andrew Farrand sold "his home farm on which he then lived" in Brattleboro, VT on June 25, 1802. He may have left the area shortly thereafter. There is a record of marriage or intention of marriage of Andrew Farrand Jr and Sally Steward in Brattleboro on Jan 3, 1803 - This is close to the date you have for Andrew Simpson Cowden

Yes, Could Sally be misread as "Polly"? I wonder why he would have intentions of marrying a "Sally" on Jan 3 and married a "Polly" on January 23rd of the same year?
Did Sally die? Or love another?

While Polly is normally associated with Mary as a nickname it would seem that this could be the same couple. On the other hand, Andrew is a common name in this group of Farrands and he could be a nephew of Andrew who married Rebecca.

Also a Thomas Farrand sold land and buildings in Brattleboro on Feb 15, 1812. There are many more Farrands in VT but I can not connect them to Andrew. Do you have information on where Andrew and Rebecca lived after Brattleboro? DMS
