Mary (Coleman?) Cox, mother of Bartley Cox, did indeed move to GA. She wrote her will in Wilkes Co., GA on 4 Oct. 1793, and it was proved in the Wilkes Co. court on 5 Dec. 1794. In it, she names her son "Bartley Cox, deceased," as well as other known children of John Cox II and Mary (Coleman?).
John Cox II was the son of Bartholomew Cox and Rebecca (--). Bartholomew was the son of John Cox I and ? Craddock (daughter of Robert Craddock). John I was the son of William Cox(e) and Elizabeth (Hutchins?). William arrived in Jamestown on the Godspeed in 1610; the Godspeed was one of the 3 ships that brought the original Jamestown settlers to Virginia in 1607.
