Confederate - 13th Regiment, Kentucky Cavalry, Co. F
In - Private; Out - Private.... Film No. M377 Roll 3
The 13th Cavalry Regiment [also called 10th and 11th Regiment Mounted Infantry] was assembled at Abingdon, (Washington Co.) Va. It was assigned to the Department of East Tennessee and later the Department of Western Virginia and East Tennessee. The unit confronted the Federals in Tennessee, Kentucky and Virginia, and on April 27, 1865 surrundered at Louisa, Kentucky. The field officers were Col. Benjamin E. Caudill, Lt. Col. D.J. Caudill and Maj. John T. Chenoweth.
James Crager is buried at Old Herold Cemetery

Not on wounded list; not on captured list; no pension filed.
