Yes, it is this Robert who many think is the progenitor of my line, along with many other lines of West/Central VA and TN.

As for Robert dying the the Indies, it seems unlikely he did, but not impossible. Those who beleive that Robert is this Robert beleive he was disinherited and thus "wrote out of" the family history- so this was the most convenient way of doing it. (It was either that or say he joined the Foreign Legion.)
