Occaisoinally you'll find people like that. There was an aid to Clinton who was a Craighead, and there is of course Jean Craighead George, the children's author. And also there are a pair of brothers who are naturalists on Grizzlys- one is Frank and I don't remember the other. One just died last year.

I descend from Allen Craighead, who was born in TN but spent most of his life in ARK, TX, & OK. I can't prove further back than that but I suspect he's the son of Peter Craighead of Smith County, TN, who is probably from Peter Craighead of Franklin Co, VA, (MAYBE.) And Peter (Sr.) isfrom (90% sure) Robert Craighead of Baltimore & Virginia. He is likely one of Thomas Craighead's children, but uncertain.

There is a strong case he was, and was ommited becuase of his lifestyle, as this man had four wives and was a bit of an adventurer, always moving about, and lastly DID NOT BECOME A PRESBYTERIAN MINISTER like his father, grandfather, and great grandfather before him- as first born this would've been his duty, one which, if shirked, his very Calvinist strict father would probably have disinherited him for (Thomas died in the pulpit, literally.)
